Umm, Did I have you at Nutella? Chocolate and hazelnut is no doubt popular flavor combo. Add in some coffee and ice and you have a perfect cool pick me up with this Nutella Blended Iced Coffee drink.
So I am weird or maybe not. Sometimes I have leftover coffee. I just always make a cup or so extra. Sometimes I freeze it in ice cube trays. After the coffee cubes are frozen, I move them to a freezer bag to store for later. When I feel like having cold coffee I pop them in and it doesn’t water it down like regular ice. But my favorite thing to do is use them for making blended coffee drinks.
Here’s what you’ll need to make a Nutella Blended Iced Coffee:
Coffee Ice Cubes
Milk of Choice
Sweetener of Choice
Whipped Cream (optional)
First, you want to combine a tablespoon of Nutella with about a half cup of warm coffee. I say warm because it helps the Nutella melt and blend into the whole drink. Nutella is so thick it doesn’t blend smoothly if it’s not warmed a little.
Then add the Nutella/coffee, 2 cups of coffee ice cubes, 1 cup of the milk of your choice, and sweetener of choice to your blender and blend at top speed for about a minute or until all the ice is uniform tiny pieces. I use 2% milk and a just bit of simple syrup. The Nutella is already pretty sweet. You could totally make this with coconut or almond milk if you don’t consume dairy.
After blending pour into a glass, add a cute straw, top with whipped cream and a drizzle of chocolate syrup and enjoy!
This recipe is simple and delicious. It can easily be doubled or tripled to share. I have trouble drinking milk plain so not only does this taste good but I am getting a serving of dairy out of the way. So go ahead and get that Nutella down from the top shelf where you hid it from the kids and make this Nutella Blended Iced Coffee.
